Pros The activities were exceptional—11/10. Truly the highlight of the trip! Cons Reception and Paintball Experience The reception staff could use some training in customer service. We had an issue with the paintball activity as the gas in the guns was not filled beforehand. The staff accompanying us had to refill the tanks, which took 20 minutes. Unfortunately, they returned with empty bottles, and we had to go back again. After much frustration, I spoke to the reception team, who called maintenance to fix the issue. This took until after 4:30 PM to resolve. Despite the delay, the receptionist insisted we head back out for the activity, but by then it was late and raining, and I was ready to leave with my kids. I asked for a credit instead of a refund, but the receptionist seemed annoyed, as if it were my fault. Eventually, a maintenance staff member escalated the matter to management, who approved the credit. The Bistro The dining experience was disappointing. Breakfast orders were inconsistent—despite ordering the same meal daily, the sides varied (e.g., slap chips vs. skinny chips), and key items like mushrooms were often forgotten. On the first night, it took 1.5 hours to get a burger and chips for my kids, and there were many other frustrated diners. While there was one friendly waiter, overall service was poor. The Rooms The self-catering rooms are extremely outdated and uncomfortable. There’s no air conditioning, and the fan provided was ineffective, leaving us to suffer in the heat. Mosquitoes and bees were a constant nuisance, making it impossible to sleep peacefully. Our room (320) had a curtain rail held together with tape. The balcony door was stuck and required maintenance, which only improved it slightly—it was still a struggle to open. General Maintenance The entire facility needs a revamp. The place feels old and neglected. I understand Covid was tough, but basic updates like a fresh coat of paint would go a long way. The Gym As a daily gym user, I was excited to see there was one on-site, but it fell short. The gym lacked air conditioning, and when someone used the treadmill, the fan had to be turned off because there weren’t enough plugs. When I asked gym staff for a double plug, I was told to ask reception—an absurd response! Final Thoughts Did I enjoy my stay? It’s a mixed bag. While the activities were fantastic, the sleeping conditions and service left a lot to be desired. Scratching all night for six days isn’t anyone’s idea
